Attending the Misk Global Forum 2024 was an unforgettable experience and a true honor. Being selected from thousands of applicants to join this prestigious event felt like a milestone in my journey. Over the two days in Riyadh, I had the privilege of connecting with inspiring leaders, engaging in thought-provoking discussions, and participating in workshops that left me brimming with new ideas and insights.
What is MISK Global Forum
The Misk Global Forum (MGF) is an annual international platform established by the Misk Foundation, based in Saudi Arabia. The forum aims to empower young leaders, innovators, and changemakers by providing a collaborative space for dialogue, learning, and networking.
Vision and Objectives
1- To inspire and engage young individuals in addressing global challenges.
2- To provide opportunities for skill development and personal growth.
3- To foster innovation and creativity among participants from diverse fields.
4- To connect global thought leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and youth for impactful discussions.
My Experience at the Forum
Day One Highlight: I attended three sessions and two workshops.
Session One: Meeting HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud The highlight of my day began with an inspiring session titled “Youth In Conversation,” where I had the privilege of meeting HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, the Minister of Energy. During this hour-long discussion, HRH shared his insights on youth empowerment, the importance of energy innovation, and the vital role of young leaders in shaping the future. It was a rare opportunity to engage with a visionary leader who emphasized the critical role of collaboration in global progress.

Session Two: Meeting HE Eng. Abdullah Alswaha Towards the end of the day, I had the honor of meeting HE Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, the Minister of Communications. His insights into the rapidly evolving tech industry and Saudi Arabia’s leadership in digital transformation were truly inspiring.

Session Three: Letter to My Younger Self In a deeply reflective session titled “Letter to My Younger Self,” I had the opportunity to learn from Steven Bartlett, a renowned entrepreneur and author. He shared personal stories and invaluable lessons, inspiring participants to embrace their journeys, learn from setbacks, and unlock their potential.

Workshops
First Workshop: Shaping Green Solution Facilitated by Engineer Muhanned Alotaibi, Badr Alouhali, and Dhari Almubyedh, this course explored sustainable solutions for addressing environmental challenges. The session emphasized practical, green strategies that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for sustainability.

Second Workshop: Design Thinking Remix Led by Ali Alahmari and Muath Alzahrani, this workshop introduced innovative approaches to design thinking, focusing on creative problem-solving and collaborative innovation techniques.

Day Two Highlight: I attended two sessions and two workshops.
Session One: A Future That Is Yours for the Taking I had the honor of meeting astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi during this session. He shared his inspiring journey to space and the lessons he learned while representing humanity among the stars. His words were filled with optimism and encouragement, motivating us to seize the opportunities ahead and embrace the limitless potential of exploration and innovation.

Session Two: On the Flight for Our Generation In another unforgettable session, I met Bill Gates, who discussed the challenges and responsibilities facing our generation. He emphasized the importance of sustainable development, global health initiatives, and technological advancements. His call to action resonated deeply, inspiring us to contribute to shaping a better future.
Workshops
First Workshop:
Future Flow: Engineering Tomorrow This session was an insightful discussion Future Flow: Engineering Tomorrow He recounted how he established his company and its role in revolutionizing the energy sector with sustainable solutions. Participants had the chance to ask questions about the future of energy and how engineers can lead the way in creating innovative, scalable solutions.

Second Workshop:
Interstellar Innovation: Designing Space Travel This workshop focused on designing eco-friendly spacecraft for future space travel. We learned from Halah AlJubair of Halo Space and Ismaeel AlShami from Ilmi about the challenges and opportunities in space exploration. In teams, we applied our knowledge to design and present our own spacecraft concepts, integrating sustainability and innovation into our creations.
