Being part of the Robotics Research Center under the leadership of the Head of Computer Engineering department Dr. Jamal Alotaibi, has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my academic journey. Through this role, I had the opportunity to contribute creatively, technically, and organizationally to showcase the center’s mission and projects in the college exhibition 2025.

Logo Design

One of the first tasks I took on was designing the official logo for the center. I aimed for a design that reflected both innovation and simplicity. The robotic arm symbolizes the center’s core focus, while the clean layout and typography make it versatile and modern.

What We Do & My Journey

The Robotics Research Center at our university is a student-driven initiative dedicated to exploring, building, and showcasing real-world robotics and technology solutions. We bring together students from different majors and backgrounds who share a passion for innovation and learning by doing.

Our work focuses on:

  • Hands-on robotics projects using platforms like Arduino and programmable kits (such as UBTECH).

  • Collaborative problem solving where students learn how to plan, prototype, and present ideas.

  • Workshops and learning sessions to build technical and creative skills.

  • Participation in exhibitions and events, where we represent the center and display our work to the public and industry professionals.

Despite being under the College of Computer , the center is open to students from all colleges, creating a diverse and welcoming environment for anyone passionate about robotics.

Coordination Role

Following the logo design, I also took on the role of coordinating the center’s preparations for the exhibition. I helped organize the workflow, assign tasks to team members, and ensure everything was progressing smoothly and on time. From booth structure planning to overseeing visuals and follow-ups, I worked closely with the team to deliver a unified and professional presence.

Booth Branding and Visual Identity

As part of the exhibition efforts, I contributed to the visual identity of our booth. This included choosing consistent design elements, working on layouts, and ensuring everything aligned with the center’s theme.

Poster Design

I supported the development of the center’s posters, including visual structure, formatting, and aesthetic decisions. The goal was to create clear, informative, and visually appealing posters that communicated our work effectively.

QR Code Media & Giveaways

To increase interaction, we created a QR code linking to a PDF file that highlights our center’s work and media. I also participated in planning branded giveaway items for visitors to take home.

Task Distribution & Member Management

With around 25 members in our team, it was important to distribute tasks clearly. I helped organize who would be responsible for each component — from poster content to booth presence — and prepared detailed documentation to manage this.

This experience allowed me to blend design with leadership and contribute to a meaningful initiative. I’m truly proud of everything we accomplished as a team, and I’m grateful I had the chance to play a role in shaping how the center was represented.

I look forward to future opportunities where creativity, robotics, and teamwork come together.
